The aim of the conference Feminists Without Borders was to gather feminist activists, researchers, and women from around the world to share their experiences, debate, and discuss various topics that affect women nowadays.

This conference was an excellent opportunity to learn more about the struggles a woman can face, and how our fellow feminists commit to the cause and be inspired to keep fighting and smashing the patriarchy.

During this impactful lecture, participants delved into the distressing realities of gender-based violence (GBV) and period stigma in Morocco. With great expertise and profound insights, the speakers illuminated the current situation, shedding light on the challenges faced by individuals affected by GBV and the pervasive social taboos surrounding menstruation. The lecture served as a powerful platform for raising awareness, fostering empathy, and inspiring action to combat GBV and dismantle period stigma in Morocco.

With their distinctive perspectives on online activism and their wealth of experience in the field, our guest speakers brought unparalleled insights to the table, shedding light on the current landscape of Social Media Activism. Their expertise not only provided valuable clarity on the topic but also delved into the realities of navigating social media platforms for activism purposes in the present day. Through their engaging presentations, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges that exist in the realm of Social Media Activism, empowering them to make a meaningful impact in their own online advocacy efforts.

During the enlightening session, our participants had the privilege of engaging with Mr. Chafik, an esteemed advocate who shared his extensive expertise and ongoing efforts in the fight to legalize abortion in Morocco. His invaluable knowledge provided participants with profound insights into the current state of abortion in the country, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges and inspiring them to contribute to the cause. The session served as a catalyst for meaningful discussions and empowered attendees to become agents of change in promoting reproductive rights and gender equality.

During an engaging session, participants delved into a thought-provoking workshop on the issue of discriminatory laws present in Morocco's penal code. The session shed light on the urgent need for reform and highlighted the impact of these laws on various marginalized communities. Through insightful discussions and analysis, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the challenges posed by discriminatory legislation and were inspired to advocate for a more equitable legal framework in Morocco.

With the captivating slogan, "More listened to dead than alive!" Manal Sarhane delivered a powerful presentation on gender-based violence during the workshop organized in collaboration with the Moroccan Association of Family Planning n (AMPF) as part of the Women4Leadership project. Her insightful talk shed light on the urgent need to address and combat gender-based violence, inspiring participants to take action and amplify the voices of survivors for a more just and equitable society.

As part of the Women4Leadership program, we had the privilege of hosting an enriching workshop on policy writing, led by renowned digital rights expert Marwa Azelmat. Participants had the opportunity to refine their policy development skills under her guidance, gaining invaluable insights into crafting impactful policies that address the digital rights challenges faced by women. With Marwa's expertise and passion, the workshop empowered participants to become effective advocates for gender-inclusive digital policies and pave the way for a more equitable and empowered future.

Politics4Her Europe’s webinar titled, ‘A Safer Digital Space: Policy Responses to Online Gender Based Violence’, delved into the complex issue of OGBV within the framework of EU policies. Our esteemed panellists- Josephine Ballon, Elena Michael, and Mardiya Siba Yahaya- examined a range of topics, including image-based sexual abuse, the ethical implications of AI, and online harassment. The webinar offered an overview of existing legislative measures addressing OGBV, highlighted inherent gaps within the current legal landscape, and proposed actionable strategies to address these deficiencies, ultimately fostering greater protection for women and girls navigating the digital realm.
