Andidiong Okon
Andidiong Okon is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and gender equity with a proven track record of advancing opportunities for women in governance, business, and media. She has led initiatives to support women journalists in telling impactful, data-driven investigative stories through training and mini-grant programs. Andidiong also spearheaded a project aimed at creating opportunities for women-owned businesses to access government procurement processes, breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated spaces. Her work includes co-publishing a policy brief on gender-responsive procurement with UN Women and participating in the 2024 Gender and Inclusion Summit in Nigeria. A dedicated mentor and leader, Andidiong serves as a mentor with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and advises young women on career growth. Her personal experiences as a Mandela Washington Fellow and Cherie Blair Institute Fellow shape her commitment to fostering inclusive leadership and advocating for the most marginalised in our communities.
