More than 20,000 Syrian civilians fled Ghouta where the regime’s army is advancing. In the total chaos, civilians continue to flee the eastern enclave, redirecting towards Damascus. On March 17, hundreds of exhausted people have borrowed the corridor opened by the pro-regime forces in the south of the rebel enclave now divided into three parts. Since Thursday, the departures are made by thousands in direction of the territory held by the authorities as bombings continue to intensify in Hammouriyé’s area. In this area, the army and allied militias have made significant progress.
