Marie Curie was born on November 7, 1867, in Warsaw, in the Kingdom of Congress (now Poland). She is an exceptional scientist, she is the first woman to have received the Nobel Prize, and to this date, the only woman to have received two. She remains to this day the only laureate to have been rewarded in two distinct scientific fields. She is also the first woman laureate in 1903, with her husband, earning the Davy medal for their work on radium.
